About me

I am a quantitative geneticist working as an Associated researcher at the Sweet Corn and Potato Breeding and Genomics lab, in collaboration with Dr. Márcio Resende Jr, at University of Florida, USA. I earned a PhD. in genetics and breeding at the Federal University of Viçosa, Brazil. My main interest is in the use and application of statistical genetics and genomic tools to increase genetic gain, efficiency, and speed up breeding programs. The research tools include genomic selection, GWAS, breeding program simulations, mate-pair allocation and optimization using additive and non-additive effects, development of tools and algorithms in R language, and models to leverage GxE interaction for cultivar recommendation.
