About me
I am a quantitative geneticist currently working as an Associate Researcher in the Sweet Corn and Potato Breeding and Genomics Lab at the University of Florida (USA), in collaboration with Dr. Márcio Resende Jr.
I received my Ph.D. in Genetics and Breeding from the Federal University of Viçosa (Brazil). My research focuses on the application of statistical genetics and genomic tools to increase genetic gain, improve efficiency, and accelerate breeding programs.
My work involves genomic selection, genome-wide association studies (GWAS), breeding program simulation, and mate allocation/optimization considering both additive and non-additive genetic effects. I also develop computational tools and algorithms in R and work on models that incorporate genotype × environment (G×E) interactions for improved cultivar recommendation.
